Game of Thrones series is also famous for the fact, that its producer – HBO company – allowed gamers a lot of freedom, not demanding from the representatives of game industry to match the scenario and the series one hundred percent. As a consequence – the emergence of many games, whose creators have either changed the well-known storyline, or even created new ones. In particular, Devolver Digital distinguished itself on this “front”. Yes, the same one that was once famous for the mega-popular game Serious Sam.
The plot of Reigns: Game of Thrones
The game’s plot is based on the story of one of the Red Priestess saga characters Melisandre, as well as the nine main characters of the fantasy epic by the end of the seventh season. The player can even reincarnate as any of these characters if they wish: Daenerys Targaryen, Tyrion Lannister, Sansa Stark, Cersei Lannister and even Jon Snow. And then the “fun madness” begins. To win, the player has to constantly navigate as to who is the most beneficial alliance at the moment, and who can be shamelessly betrayed.

The amount of cards in the game is astounding. According to the experts, there are around a thousand of them. As soon as one character dies, the player is given the opportunity to determine the next challenger to the Iron Throne. During the game it is possible to use the services of advisors, which was an absolutely innovative decision on the part of the developers, as the previous Reigns games did not have anything like that. The game amazes with the number of variants of events. Moreover each of these options is very well designed, and sometimes the gamer is waiting for very interesting and unexpected turns.
Long-playing Reigns: Game of Thrones
Reigns: Game of Thrones is for gamers who love long-player games. It’s not at all the kind of game that manages to “pass the time” or kill time during his break at work. The game requires a serious and thoughtful approach, working through the options, and knowledge of the original literary or at least serial material wouldn’t hurt.
Graphics and design
The graphical execution of Reigns: Game of Thrones is quite interesting. The creators decided to go beyond the trivial path of realism or even realism. They chose the conceptual minimalistic graphics and they were right. It was this visual solution that appealed to a lot of fans. The game’s soundtrack is based on the music from the original series, which is also a very good decision, because the music is atmospheric and creates appropriate mood.
A lot of games for PC, different consoles and mobile devices have been and will be created based on Game of Thrones. But Reigns: Game of Thrones is one of the most successful ones, and that is why it will not be lost among the numerous gaming interpretations of the famous fantasy.
